The Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) provides learners with the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable them work in the following roles; teaching assistant, classroom assistant, learning support assistant, additional needs assistant, pastoral/welfare support assistant, bilingual support assistant or foundation stage assistant. The roles must be under the direction of the class teacher, whose lesson planning and day-to-day direction set the framework within which the individual works.
TQUK Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (QCF).
This qualification is for learners who wish to develop a knowledge and understanding of the role of a teaching assistant, classroom assistant or support worker in a school environment.
This qualification comprises of four units. There is no requirement to be working in a school to achieve this qualification. Learners must complete 12 credits from the four mandatory units.
This is a nationally recognised qualification and the requirement to work as a TA in schools.

The Level 3 Award is suitable for those working or wishing to work as a support teacher within an educational environment.
Total Qualification Time is comprised of GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or any other learning including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor. The credit value, where given, for a qualification is determined by TQT, as one credit corresponds to 10 hours of learning. The TQT for this award is 120 hours and 80 Guided Learning Hours.
There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent. Learners should be keen to work in the sector to support teaching and learning in schools. They should also have attention to detail and be willing to work in a team environment, whilst also being willing to work using their own initiative when required.

The BBE Training E-Learning portal is a web-based learning platform that we have invested in to give our learners the best possible experience. Fully customised for BBE, its based on the award-winning Moodle software.
Learners can complete and upload or download and complete offline before uploading to their login area. All work is marked and assessed from within the learning platform with allowing tutors and learners to automatically notify each other when a process has been completed. It stores all communication centrally and is the system that allows learners to be able to work on any device by downloading the App.
