The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory, knowledge based teaching qualification which can be undertaken by individuals who are not yet in a teaching role (pre-service), or are currently teaching (in-service). However, there is a minimum requirement to take part in micro teaching. Micro teaching is an activity where trainee teachers prepare and deliver a short teaching and learning session to their peers and then evaluate their practice. Our online course allows you to access other micro teach sessions to observe as part of your course if you do not have anyone to observe yourself.
The CAVA qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in a workshop, classroom or other training environment rather than assessing competence in a work environment. Delivered as a distance learning course we can support you to achieve your qualification either fast track or at a pace that suits you.Close section

These qualifications are assessed through activities, which are developed by the Centre, internally marked and sampled as part of quality assurance/ internal verification procedures.
There must be evidence of the trainee assessor carrying out at least two assessments of two learners (four assessments in total). This occupational competence must not be in assessment itself. In other words, evidence for this unit must not come from the trainee assessing another trainee assessor who, in turn, is assessing someone else. In gathering evidence for these qualifications, an unqualified trainee assessor is not allowed to assess competence in another unqualified assessor. These observations must be carried out by a qualified person such as anyone with an IQA Level qualification.
The aim of this unit is to assess the trainee assessor’s knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices that underpin assessment.
All learning outcomes in this unit must be assessed using methods appropriate to the assessment of knowledge and understanding.
There must be valid, authentic and sufficient evidence for all the assessment criteria. However, one piece of evidence may be used to meet the requirements of more than one learning outcome or assessment criterion.
